XLR8 Alpine Racing provides result driven coaching for young ski racers (ages 7-17) in a fun, active environment. Our goal is to develop junior racers, physically and mentally, by using a variety of proven ski racing drills and progressive USSA teaching techniques geared towards young racers. Our positive teaching approach leads to strong character, increases self esteem and instills confidence on and off the hill.
Athletes train primarily in giant slalom as a foundation for ski racing technique, and are also introduced to slalom gate training fundamentals. XLR8 Alpine Racing is an appropriate stepping-stone into NASTAR racing and more competitive junior development racing circuits, including CUSSA. Skiers are grouped by age and ability during the first weeks of the season, and ski with the same professional coaches throughout the season for consistency and individual attention.
The program skis on Sundays from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM with an optional Wednesday evening (5-7 pm) gate training session available. The first day of training for the 2009/2010 ski season is Sunday, January 3, 2010 with training sessions through early March (weather permitting).
Race training makes you a better skier and adds a new and exciting element to Michigan skiing….MAKE THE MOST OUT OF THE HILL!
